Andrew, based in the United Kingdom, is an experienced lighting designer with over 20 years experience. Andrew has also worked as a moving light programmer for many theatrical productions as well as large scale television events and productions.

Andrew studied on a 2 year theatre electrics YTS (Youth Training Scheme) at Westminster College (formally Paddington College). The first year of the course was spent working at The Royal Court Theatre Upstairs (also covering fit ups and show roles in the main house) and the second year was spent on the musical 'Time' at the Dominion Theatre. The musical 'Time' featured a rig of Vari-Lite VL1 luminaires, which led Andrew to eventually leave his course to start a full time job working for Vari-Lite Europe Limited (later to become VLPS). His first job at Vari-Lite was as a workshop technician fixing Vari-Lite luminaires, consoles and related equipment. During this time, Andrew also covered follow spot, stage electrician and board operator roles in London's West End. Andrew left Vari-Lite to work as a Chargehand Dayman (Electrics) at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on the production of 'Miss Saigon'. The show featured the West Ends first production with a Vari-Lite Series 200 system (VL2B and VL4 luminaries). Andrew returned to work for VLPS first as a Service Technician, then as the Training Manager and finally as a moving light programmer. Whilst programming for several of the UK's top lighting designers (Rick Fisher, Howard Harrison, Hugh Vanstone), Andrew started to also cover the role of the associate lighting designer. Andrew's first big break in lighting design was to light a production of 'Hair' in Vienna in 2001, which led him to lighting many productions in Continental Europe and around the world.

Andrew is also the creator and developer of Moving Light Assistant which is an application designed to document the physical and programming of moving light rigs used on productions today. Move details can be found on the Moving Light Assistant website.

Since 2020, Andrew also works as a Creative Technologist for Copper Candle, developing products and projects for Virtual Theatre, Virtual Production and Virtual/Mixed/Augmented Reality applications.
